Universal Engineering Sciences has an opening for a Threshold Inspector. Branch walk-ins welcome.

The threshold inspector will perform structural inspections to include CMU, cast-in-place concrete, reinforcing steel, shoring/reshoring, post tension cable, precast/prestress members, and wood-framed systems


Required Qualifications:


  • One or more of the following:
    • Current Florida Threshold Building Inspector certification
    • Licensure as a professional engineer or architect
    • Graduation from a four-year engineering education program in civil, structural or architectural engineering
    • Possession of a professional Architecture degree
    • Registration as a building inspector or general contractor
    • Four years of Threshold Building inspection training on non-Threshold Buildings performed under the supervision of a Special Inspector who was in responsible charge of the trainee’s work
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License
  • Ability to climb to high places and enter confined spaces safely

Preferred Qualifications:


  • 3 Years experience as a Threshold Building Inspector
  • ACI Concrete Construction Special Inspector, or PTI Level 1 & 2 Unbonded PT Inspector, or ICC Structural Masonry Special Inspector, or ICC Structural Steel and Bolting Special Inspector
