Overview

Universal Engineering Sciences has an opening for an FDOT CTQP Certified Field Technician.

Responsibilities

The field technician is responsible for in-the-field testing of concrete, soils and other construction materials. They will use a company provided vehicle to travel to job sites in the area.

  • Perform earthwork and concrete testing and inspection duties on FDOT / CQC projects
  • Communicate with dispatcher about job assignments
  • Maintain equipment and truck maintenance (oil changes, fluid levels)
  • Follow and support all company safety policies and procedures
  • Other assigned duties

     

 

 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspector Level 1&2 Certifications
  • Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record
  • Must be at least 18 years old for entry onto job sites

Preferred Qualifications: (In addition to those above)

  • American Concrete Institute (ACI) Certification in Concrete Field Testing Technician-Grade I
  • At least two (2) years of experience as a FDOT / CTQP / CQC field technician

Skills:

  • Ability to read/understand project plans and specifications for FDOT projects
  • Ability to communicate with project construction team
  • Report writing and documentation with computer software skills (summaries and time sheet)
  • Ability to complete FDOT density logbook and other required FDOT documentation
  • Neat in appearance and punctual
